Now is not the time for details, but in light of recent events I have decided to get more involved in political activism. Not quite the marching in streets style activism but much more than just sitting on my ass, convinced that I am making all the difference in the world just by blogging about my ideals.

Had my first two classes @ QC this weekend. They both went well. My 9 AM starts this weekend. Shawn & I were supposed to go see David Bazan @ The Bowery Ballroom but he backed out because he wasn't feeling well, so instead I went to see Where The Wild Things Are in IMAX.
The film was brilliant but you most likely have to be around a certain age in order to "truly get" what the film is about. That is, I wouldnt recommend it for young children or for those too far removed from their childhood.

i got back on Sunday night from what was supposed to have been a 3 night minivacation in CT. This was the first time that I had ever stayed at a hotel/motel by myself and quite enjoyed the experience. The motel( Red Roof Inn) wasn't the lap of luxury, but it was comfortable, Thursday evening I took a cab over to the campus met up with a good friend of mine and took her out to FPD aka " Our Place", for dinner.( I'm probably going to stick with the boneless wings from now on, their grinders always leave me with a tummy ache). Friday night, I went with Faticus & Spaceman to Niantic to see The Informant, which was an interesting film to say the least.Saturday, While on the way to the Mall with Faticus & Spaceman; I recieved a call from Mother telling me that Nana had to be hospialised the previous day( issue relating to her meds) so I decided to skip over Westport where I was to spend the night at my Uncle Greyfart's and take the train home directly to Grand Central. ( Nana is home now and I've been keeping an eye on her during the day while Mother is at work.

Right-Wing Talk Radio

Caught 5 minutes of Rush Limbaugh today which served to leave me further convinced that the right-wing in this country is intellectually soft. Limbaugh has the gall to assert that Obama is the first president(democrat OR republican) to have a cult of personality. One caller drew a paralell between LBJ increasing US involvement in Vietnam in order to distract critics of The Great Society to Obama increasing US involvement in Afghanistan (supposedly)to distract critics of his social agenda, Limbaugh tells the caller that he "doesn't get the analogy" but that he hopes the caller is right because LBJ only served one term.

Doesn't get the analogy?

Bullshit......

Rehydration

I wrote this over the summer about a friend of mine. No he wasn't really a friend. he was just someone whom I could not stand but somehow managed to get stuck with for a number of years until this past July when I finally told the jackass to get lost and stay lost.

I like your parents, I like your dog, I can't stand you
Long ago in tactless ages your friendship seemed the best that I could do.
I've grown up since, you should do the same
Feeble cleft-chinned ginger kid, use your fucking brain
On a day of desperate anguish, I had to beg you to stay away
and still you came. Now I say I break this chain, you prince mundane
GET LOST AND STAY THAT WAY

Hair

I got a haircut today. Rather than going to the barbershop I saved twenty bucks and let Mom cut it instead, just like when i was small. Instead of getting one of those insane buzzcuts like the one I sported for the majority of my undergraduate career I opted for just a short trim. Honestly I think it looks really good, far better than it had when it looked like I was getting ready for bootcamp and FAR FAR better than it had when my hair was a shaggy, uneven, mass of kink, like that of a werewolf.
